Discouraging people from taking lower-paying jobs in public service or rural areas as they have a massive loan to pay off. Forgive the loan, massive economic stimulus, freedom for people to take jobs in places that need them. We need to fix college debt, but just saying “schools can charge whatever they want, taxpayers will cover it” seems quite wrong. That will just make the problem worse as schools raise prices why not? Personally, I’m all for students Hot Sloth That’s What I Do I Read Books I Drink Tea And I Know Things Shirts having to repay their own loans. But don’t get me wrong I don’t think the current levels of interest are acceptable. I believe that any loan should have a maximum amount of chargeable as interest. Top of the principal amount, for argument’s sake, let’s say 50% on top so 100 becomes a maximum of 150. Additionally, I think the interest should only be chargeable on the principle and that all payments should reduce the principal debt first. I don’t understand this argument. I want to go to college. It cost x dollars to attend. I finance x dollars. I’ll pay for your college just like I did for my kids. Because we know your parents didn’t give about your future all they cared about was the sex. If they could have afforded an abortion after you were conceived.
